KATARYNA WOLCZUK
Kataryna Wolczuk is a distinguished scholar specializing in East European politics, with a focus on Ukraine's political development, European integration, and relations with its neighbors. She holds the position of Professor of East European Politics at the University of Birmingham, UK, and serves as an Associate Fellow at Chatham House's Russia and Eurasia Programme. Her academic journey includes an MA in Law from the University of Gdansk, Poland, and both an MSc and a PhD from the University of Birmingham.
Wolczuk's research examines the dynamics of state-building in Ukraine, particularly constitutional reforms, institutional frameworks, and legislative-executive relations. She has also studied the conception of nationhood and national identity in Central and Eastern Europe. Her work extends to analyzing the relations between the EU and post-Soviet countries within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership.
