Anna Carin Krokstäde is currently serving as the Deputy Head of the Ukraine Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels, a position she has held since September 2022. Her role involves assisting and, when required, replacing the Head of Division in leading and managing the division. This includes ensuring that the staff delivers the work required to implement the directorate's work while enabling jobholders to develop their potential to support the mission and priorities of the Division effectively.
Krokstäde has a diverse and extensive background in international relations and European affairs. Before her current role, she worked at the EEAS in various capacities. From 2011 to 2013, she was a Desk Officer on Yemen and the Gulf Countries. Between 2013 and 2018, she served as the Deputy Head of Division on the United States and Canada. From 2018 to 2022, she was an Adviser for Equal Opportunities and Careers.
Her work at the EEAS, especially in her current role, is critical in shaping and managing EU's policies and relations concerning Ukraine, especially amidst the ongoing geopolitical challenges in the region.
