ANASTASIYA SHAPOCHKINA
Anastasiya Shapochkina is a leading expert in energy policy and geopolitical strategy, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe and the post-Soviet space. She is the founder and president of the think tank Eastern Circles, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to fostering dialogue and understanding between Eastern and Western experts on issues related to defense, energy, and security.
Shapochkina has over 14 years of experience in consulting and the energy industry, specializing in market analysis, technological innovation, and policy development across various sectors, including renewable energy, nuclear power, utilities, and e-mobility. She has led international cross-industry research projects and represented business interests in European industrial and research associations.
In addition to her work at Eastern Circles, Shapochkina has been a lecturer on geopolitics at Sciences Po Paris since 2012, where she teaches the role of business in EU-Russia relations. She has authored several articles on the geopolitics and geoeconomics of the Former Soviet Union and is a frequent commentator on television and radio.
Shapochkina is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, where she completed the German and European Studies Program.
